Freemax Maxus 200W Kit Review | Flavors Dance Around
Honestly, I'm so excited to hear that Freemax released its new product, Freemax Maxus 200W Kit which comes together with M Pro 2 Tank. Date back to 2018, we have the Freemax M Pro Tank out there that surprised all of us with the unprecedented dual mesh coils. After that, more and more dual mesh coil sub-ohm tanks sprung up on the market. Nonetheless, I think Freemax makes it best. Up to now, the M Pro Tank and Fireluke 2 Tank are still playing actively in the vape tank field and their seemingly timeless performances are still laudable.
But some adjustments or improvements are necessary to maintain the vitality at the full level. On the other hand, catering to the current aesthetic trend is a great way to improve product exposure and publicity. Now, let's jump into the review.
The coordination between the Maxus 200W Mod and the M Pro 2 Tank is fairly outstanding. But it could be much better if the resin color of the tank is the same as the box mod. Unlike the resin box mods out there on the market, there're four individual resin panels on the removable battery door.
Undeniably, outstanding product color-matching will make the consumers dwell more on the product. Sometimes, the impressive profile design will be the only factor for consumers to pay for it. From the aspect of the appearance of the Freemax Maxus 200W Kit, It truly appeals to me.
Actually, I didn't pay too much attention to the box mod from the start because my inertial thinking always tells me the default VW mode is fairly enough for me to use all the time. The fun fact is I only go for the VW mode function even I have a dozen of various functional box mods on my table. But there're some surprises hidden in the Maxus 200W Mod which I will tell you below.
Apart from the Maxus 200W Mod, I put more focus on the M Pro 2 Tank which features a totally different appearance. Thus, there'll be more interesting things I can tell you.
With a dual 18650 external battery, the Freemax Maxus 200W Kit is able to deliver 200w output with ease. And integrated FM CHIP Maxus 1.0 is capable of preventing some battery issues and maintaining vaping safety. Adjustment buttons and screen display are both common configurations. Three presses on the fire button to enter the main menu system as the picture shown above. Basically, all the essential output modes you've ever heard have been thrust into the Maxus 200W Mod, my favorite VW mode, VV mode, Bypass mode, TCR mode, and Custom TCR mode. Of course, there' re also some unnecessary functions like status setting or information check. At this point, none of the introductions seem to be interesting. That's why you need to scroll down a little bit!
What you saw from above is a unique function that Freemax Maxus 200W Kit features. A single battery or dual battery are both operable conditions. If you only have one battery, you can still keep the mod running well at 80 watts output. On the contrary, you can drive this mod at full horsepower if you do have more than two batteries. But it's needless to say that the battery collections of the majority of vapor enthusiasts are definitely rich and I think no one will choose to imperfect this 200w powerful box mod. The only exception is it's more friendly than the mainstream box mods on the market for new vapers who are not capable of withstanding higher power. If you're the one, this Maxus 200W Kit suits you well. If you don't prefer big-sized box mod kits, the Freemax Maxus 100W Kit maybe cater to you.
This function is called SmartLoad Tech which is created by Freemax. The explanation goes like this, the batteries(or battery) are in a position to be installed at random directions without following the fixed form from positive to negative. In other words, there's no difference exists whether you put two batteries along with the same direction or opposite. Give credit to the FM CHIP Maxus 1.0, this feature is superior practical. Of course, it's also applicable to a single battery. And it's not a big deal to put the single 18650 in random battery holders.
M Pro 2 Tank
A good horse matches a good saddle. A great sub-ohm tank is able to release the full potential of a box mod. That's the reason I put more attention to the Freemax M Pro 2 Tank.
What impressed me a lot is the generous use of construction material on the M Pro 2. Except for the resin drip tip and multiple resin decorations, the stainless steel chassis is quite solid and durable. The machining and processing on the top cap section and bottom base are also impeccable. Only in terms of the form factor, I do like this M Pro 2.
The mysterious story should be unveiled by Freemax's new mesh coils. According to Freemax Official, the implementation of FM COILTECH 4.0 is the key to success which is also the reason to deliver explosive flavors to your taste buds. First thing first, the size of the Freemax SS904L M Series mesh coils is really giant which outfitted with organic cotton and tea fiber formula to improve the entire flavor performance to a new level. If you've used the previous Fireluke 2 Tank, you will have a clue of the flavor brought by tea fiber. Secondly, don't be fooled by the suggested wattage printed on the coils, all those coils are truly capable of withstanding much higher wattage with no issues. I will tell you in the conclusion section.
There's one more thing needed to be mentioned here is the new top cap mechanism. The slide-to-open top cap is also a common structure on most sub-ohm tanks which is the easiest way to open it. The difference is Freemax added three steel balls underneath the top cap to make the contact tighter in order to prevent occasional leakings. While the truth is I do not feel anything different. :)
This comparison is mainly to show you the size difference between the Freemax Maxus 200W Kit and Freemax Maxus 100W Kit. As the designation tells, these two kits cater to different vaping habits. If you prefer a bigger size and higher wattages, it'll not be wrong you choose the Maxus 200W. And you can go for the Maxus 100W if the medium output is enough for you! Or you prefer the Fireluke 3 to M Pro 2!
Let's just wrap it up! If you want to ask the flavor performance of the Freemax Maxus 200W Kit. I'd like to answer your' next question, please ' because the flavor it gives me is far more than satisfactory. It's no exaggeration to say it's the best mesh tank so far! I have used almost 5 bottles of the same liquid on different devices like Rincoe Mechman 228W Kit, Voopoo Drag 2 Kit, Voopoo Drag Mini Kit, Voopoo Drag X Kit, Vaporesso Gen 220W Kit, etc. I finally know the true flavor of my beloved liquid after I used this Maxus 200w.
I've described that don't be fooled by the suggested wattage printed on the coils. That means the capability of the coil is beyond the limits. I've been using the M2 Mesh Coil 0.2ohm for almost three days and put it on 100 watts. No problems at all! If you're picky about flavor performance, you need to go chasing the Freemax M Pro 2 Tank and you'll not be disappointed! On the other hand, the airflow abundance is more than rich as well. Fully opened airflow, 0.2ohm dual mesh coil, and 90 watts are my setups. The result is explosive flavor and satisfactory vapor production. (The coil is able to stand 100 watts, but I prefer the 90w's flavor)
To be honest, the Maxus 200W Mod is a moderate device. But I would like to recommend the M Pro 2 Tank. Without exception, the M Pro 2 Tank itself will be sold separately in the future and you're able to get it everywhere because it's a great device.
There're also some greats specs I've not introduced while you can get from the pictures - USB-C charging port and 5V/2A charging power. Even I'd like to use an external battery charger, I'll not refuse these great configurations.
That's all I want to tell you! Hope you find it useful!
