Anyhow, we should be glad to see this kind of new pod kit debut in the vape market. The Smok RPM40 Pod Mod Kit().

First thing first, I know there's plenty of users that don't like pod kits or pod system kits due to its tiny size and lower output. From the perspective of a chain vaper, that quite makes sense because big clouds and high wattage are the charms of vaping. And the emergence of pod system kits precisely broke that. But I've been expressing my opinions more than once in my previous reviews that the current pod kits are learning the great features from box mod kits continuously. The reason why I think so is the emergence of Smok RPM40 Pod Mod Kit. Let's go back up on the top.

Initial Thoughts

Even though the size of Smok RPM40 is much bigger than the majority of pod system kits on the market, it's actually still compact in hand. And I legitimately think it should be the best shape for vape devices because I'm a pod kit man. Of course, someone may don't think so due to the box mods and sub-ohm tanks are their daily drivers. In my view, I like the size of Smok RPM40.

By the way, I have to say this product could be an innovation because you've never seen a pod system kits that can deliver up to 40 watts.

The Battery Mod

The dimension of this battery mod is 25 mm × 25 mm × 99 mm. Just like what I said above, it's still a portable device. The whole mod is constructed from zinc alloy material. Especially, the three sides are all decorated with colorful panels.

On the front side, you can see there's a fire button, up/down buttons and a stealth screen. Even it's a pod kit, there're actually many interesting functions you can use. Let me make it clear down below!

1. Press the fire button and up button simultaneously to clear the puff counter.
2. To change the theme color by pressing the fire button and down button simultaneously.
3. Press the up button and the down button simultaneously to lock the wattage. Once you do this, you can not change the wattage anymore but you can still vape.
4. Press the fire button three times to lock the power. Once you do this, you can't vape anymore.

The kit can provide a maximum output of 40 watts. And I think it's far enough for a pod kit! The capacity of the battery is 1500mAh and you can charge it via the USB port on the bottom. Frankly, I prefer the USB-C port! On the top, you can see the two air holes. What disappointed me a lot is you can't make adjustments to the airflow. And you can only install the pod cartridge in only one way, which is exactly different from Voopoo Vinci Mod Pod Kit.

This piece of screen on the Smok RPM40 Pod Mod Kit is just right. Its brightness and clarity are both comfortable to use. 0.96-inch screen size could display all the essential information like the current wattage,  the coil resistance, the output voltage, the battery life, and the puff number.

The Pod Cartridge

As the size of the battery mod has become larger, the size of the pod cartridge has also been a little larger. And the direct benefit this change brings is the bigger capacity of storing liquid. Due to the 40 watts output, bigger capacity means longer vaping time after one-time refilling.

Here is another point you should know. They're actually two pod cartridges included in the package, the RPM regular pod and the RPM Nord pod. That means you can install your Nord coils in this device. What else can I say? It's already been such a long time, Smok Nord Pod Kit is still so popular by now.

The Verdict

Without any doubt, I like this Smok RPM40 Pod Mod Kit. Whether from the aspect of the whole design or from the aspect of the actual using experience, I just think it'll be an awesome device if some improvements could be made.

First of all, the airflow is nonadjustable. We all know that the airflow is important for MTL vaping. Someone likes the loose style and someone likes the restrictive style. Anyhow, I kind of wish the airflow could be adjustable.

On the other hand, I don't know if I'm too picky, but I really don't like to put the charging port on the bottom. It just makes me uncomfortable to charge the device in this way!

All in all, I think this Smok RPM40 Pod Mod Kit is a really great device and I'm glad to see more and more interesting and inventive devices on the market. After all, customers are always the beneficiaries.
