Up to now, I still think Vaporesso Gen Mod is the best box mod I've ever used this year. And I don't think the majority of customers who have used it as well will disagree on that, whether in terms of the exquisite chassis design or the actual performance. But now, we will have another beautiful and outstanding kit to review, Vaporesso Swag 2 Kit.
Initial Thoughts
When you take your first glance at this Vaporesso Swag 2 Kit, I think you will find something familiar. The concept of the profile design inherits from the Vaporesso Gen Mod. And the color-matching between these two kits are also identical.
Different from the previous version, there're only four colors available to choose from. What's a pity that the 12 different color combinations of the previous swag kit have not been retained. Maybe, Vaporesso will consider restarting doing that!
The Mod
The exact dimension of the Vaporesso Swag 2 Kit is not much different from the previous one. And obviously, the brand-new profile design is the very highlight of this kit. If you've used the Vaporesso Gen Mod or watched the review videos on YouTube, I think you will know how gorgeous the outer shell is. Without any doubt, this kind of unique and innovative profile design drives itself to success.
Actually, the Vaporesso Swag 2 Kit is constructed from the metal material. But it has different coatings on the surface, like rubber coating. So you can get a soft and smooth feeling when you hold it in hand. The minor holes on both sides aim to increase the friction between your hand and the mod. On the other hand, the curved front side is specially designed for your left thumb. Well, not too friendly for right-handers.
One thing may annoy you too much if you've got the previous Vaporesso Swag Kit. The adaptability to larger diameter tanks is very narrow. Obviously, Vaporesso has resolved this design defect. And you can use more tank atomizers up to 25 mm in diameter without overhang.
The Operations
Except for the brand-new profile design, there're a few inner changes.
As before, This Vaporesso Swag 2 Kit is still driven by a single 18650 battery. And the same 80w max output. But the actual performance is not the same anymore due to the inner AXON chip.
As a brand-new chipset, Vaporesso has invested too much into it and unveiled it on Vaporesso Gen Mod. And the results are very satisfactory. So, they keep expanding the scope of use. Both of the two new devices from Vaporesso, Degree Pod Kit and this Swag 2 Kit, are equipped with this chip.
Due to the new chip inside, the user interface of the Vaporesso Swag 2 Kit becomes much more straightforward and easier to use. The actual functionalities are the same as Vaporesso Gen Mod.
Press the square menu button three times continuously, you can switch through different modes, like exclusive pulse mode, power Eco mode, smart TC mode, and DIY mode. In the system setting, you can adjust the brightness of the screen, check/clear the puff counter, flip the screen display, activate the auto Eco function and smart VW function.
The Atomizer
This Vaporesso NRG PE tank is an upgraded version of the previous NRG SE tank. The actual difference is the inner coil heads.
These two coils included in the packaging are a 0.15ohm GT4 mesh coil and a 0.5ohm GT Ccell coil. And it's no more need for me to introduce more about the GT series coils because all of us are all familiar with it. I will put more thoughts on the verdict section below to let you know the actual performance of these coils.
The operation methods in this tank are pretty traditional. Slide to open the top cap and twist the bottom airflow ring. One thing is worth mentioning here is the color coordination between the tank and the box mod is very awesome. And the knurling on the airflow ring is also identical to the main body. But it does not have the same coatings.
The Verdict
I must confess that this Vapresso Swag 2 Kit is a great device. Just like what I said in my last review, Vaporesso can always make something we want. Without exception, they did it this time. But, there's something that still annoys you.
What disappointed us the most is that it's a single 18650 battery device. I guess Vaporesso wants to label the Swag Series as a portable product. But if you insist on something and you'll lose something. Honestly, the capacity of a single 18650 battery features is fairly not enough. It could be better to make it into a single 20700/21700 battery device.
The other one is my subjective con, I don't like the USB port. Generally speaking, the design features of box mods are not always on the charge port due to no one will pay attention to the charging problem, like convenience and efficiency. Because replacing the dead battery with a fully charged one is more straightforward. Nonetheless, I still prefer the type-c port.
Despite it's a single 18650 battery device, the actual performance is still out of my expectations. Thanks to the AXON chip inside, I can still feel the strong hit with only 17% battery left. That GT4 mesh coil works perfectly with fully opened airflow at 70w output. If you prefer high concentrate nicotine liquid, you can switch to the 0.5ohm Ccell coil head and fine-tune the airflow to the minimum level. The performance could be better at 15w to 20w.
Furthermore, I have to tell you again the perfect feedback from the chassis. It's no exaggeration to say that it could be the best vape starter kit after the Vaporesso Gen Mod.
